TRAINING ON MODERN METHODS OF BRINGING SAFE DRINKING WATER AND HEALTH TO FAMILIES WORLDWIDE SUNDAY JUNE 26, 2011

Over a billion people worldwide have no access to clean water and a million children die every year from diseases caused by drinking contaminated water. AGUA PURA PARA EL PUEBLO announces a new one day workshop to train interested persons in bringing safe drinking water to families in the developing world.   The program is intended for volunteers and others who might want to participate in a service project.   It will include practice in accurate testing of drinking water for bacteria. Also, simple methods of water purification will be presented and discussed.  These include bio-sand filtration systems,  solar Pasteurization, simple bio-mass cooking stoves and other techniques.  An introduction to basic sanitation methods will also be included. Workshop hours are 9:00 am till 4:30 pm and include a potluck lunch prepared using methods shown in the workshop. Tax deductible workshop fees are $20 to cover cost of instructional materials and supplies.
